Tenaya Lodge has been a DogTrekker favorite for years and had already been given our highest pet-friendly honor: dog-passionate! The 50 new, two-bedroom, stand-alone cabins add to an overall experience that already included dog-passionate suites in the lodge and cottages; dog-friendly outdoor seating at Jackalopes Restaurant; dog-sitting; a Deluxe Pampered Pet Package; doggie massages; advice on nearby hikes and more.
Explorer Cabins offer a roomy 560 square feet to spread out in (ADA cabins are slightly larger) as well as a covered porch and wet bar area. They introduce a “cabineering” experience to the Yosemite-Sierra region that combines modern comforts with the personalized service and perks of a full resort. The cabins are arranged in clusters and designated as family, premium or deluxe units.
Maya received a pre-opening preview of the cabins and can’t wait to return to cuddle up next to the fireplace or count the squirrels from the outside deck. Plus, enjoy all of the other goodies that come with the Tenaya Lodge Explorer Cabin experience. Communal fire-pit areas are sprinkled throughout the cabin clusters and invite guests to gather for s’mores and stargazing after a day of exploring. Cabineers are just steps from the resort’s popular Old West Summerdale Barbecue complex, which hosts themed dinner and entertainment beneath the stars. Cabin guests also have exclusive access to the Explorer Clubhouse, which offers easy check-in, convenient grab-and-go breakfast, evening wine and charcuterie receptions and other special events.
