The best prescription for calmness during the journey is to get her so physically tired out with exercise that she falls asleep before the car leaves the driveway. Alternatively, you can try one of the many natural sedatives available in pet or health-food stores. If the situation seems out-of-control extreme, ask your vet for prescription medication.
The question of whether to feed or not to feed before a lengthy trip is open to experimentation. On the one hand, no food going in means no food coming out.
