We all love exciting, dog-friendly lodging and family experiences, and the farm stay adventure at Dog & Pony Ranch in Amador County stands out on that list.

DogTrekker Barketing Director Maya spends her days hiking off-leash and running around this scenic, 60-acre ranch in the Sierra foothills. She splashes and swims in the dog-friendly pond. She gets nose-to-nose with horses, llamas, mini-donkeys and chickens (with extensive fencing to keep dogs safely separated, of course). She also loves evening downtime with her parents in the luxury lodge-style home.

Dog & Pony Ranch was developed to be completely dog-friendly. The property offers hiking trails, a swimming pond and other adventures. Rooms here feature furniture that repels pet hair and easy-to-clean stained concrete and tile floors. The two-bedroom, single-story lodge, a 1,700-square-foot home base that sleeps up to six, also has vaulted pine ceilings, a grand stone fireplace, a jetted soaking tub and fetching views.

A pro tip for DogTrekkers: Book early. There’s high demand for reservations here, and the property has lots of returning guests. Check out the Dog & Pony Ranch calendar for available rates, dates and property details.
