If you're headed up to Tahoe this weekend, Reno's Art Paws 2011 at the McKinley Arts & Culture Center on the banks of the Truckee River is the place to be. The sprawling Sunday event, part of Reno's month-long Artown celebration, includes a vendor fair featuring animal-themed arts and crafts, wines from dog-friendly wineries, a full agenda of canine contests, and demonstrations of everything from canine stretching exercises to police dogs, Rally-O and off-leash control. Fido can even have his paws read by an animal psychic. There are plenty of prizes to be fetched as well during this 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dogapalooza benefiting the community's neediest animal-aid organizations.
