Lake San Antonio, part of Monterey County Parks, is Monterey County’s premier freshwater recreation area. It is geographically divided into two facilities and encompasses 4,200 total acres: South Shore with 3,020 acres and North Shore with 1,180 acres. Located just 20 miles inland from California’s beautiful Central Coast, Lake San Antonio offers year-round activities including picnicking, camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, boating and water-skiing. Visitors can enjoy active water sports all year, and the lake is famous for its great fishing.
The South Shore and North Shore park facilities offer outdoor activities that visitors can enjoy year-round: overnight camping, boating, fishing, waterskiing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and picnicking. Lake San Antonio has basic tent to partial and full hookup RV campsites available.
Dogs are not allowed on the swimming beach or in private resort areas.
Dogs are welcome at all County of Monterey parks, trails and campgrounds. They must be on a leash no longer than 6’ and supervised at all times. Please be courteous and pick up after your pets, keeping the parks beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
