Fiesta Island, a large peninsular park located within Mission Bay, is a very dog-friendly popular location for charity walks and runs, bicycle races, time trials and other special events. The island is open from 4am to 10pm every day.
Fiesta Island is located in Mission Bay Park off East Mission Bay Drive. Dogs are allowed off-leash in all areas except for the Youth Campground and Least Tern nesting sites (seasonal). It is open daily from 4 a.m. – 10 p.m. It offers calmer waters than the ocean and sand dunes to run on.
From I-5, take the Sea World Drive exit and head southwest, then make a right onto East Mission Bay Drive, then left to Fiesta Island. There is parking throughout the island.
