The American River Parkway is a greenbelt along the American River where leashed dogs are welcome. The dog-friendly pathway encompasses a series of smaller parks and boat launching points.
Easily accessible from multiple exits off U.S. Route 50 in Sacramento County, this paved, multi-use trail runs 32-miles from Folsom Lake State Recreation Area to the Old Sacramento historic district.
The parkway’s 82-mile trail system also includes hiking and equestrian paths. The parkway is the jewel in the crown of the Sacramento County Regional Park System and a cherished resource for area residents.
