Named in honor of founder Edie Achterman's childhood dog Annie, Annie's Blankets in Aptos collects old towels, blankets, and flannel sheets at drop-off stations around the South Bay. Once gathered, all this soft bedding is laundered and distributed to local shelters and veterinary clinics, bringing extra comfort to the animals in their care and allowing the organizations to devote scarce resources to other critical concerns. Annie's Blankets will have a booth at Woof to Woof in Scotts Valley on June 4. in addition to gently used towels and bedding, collars, leashes, food bowls, and of course cash donations are welcome.
