If a trip along the coast is in your plans, consider timing your excursion to take in seasonal events that you can enjoy with your furry friend. Gualala kicks off the season Nov. 26 with a Lighted Truck Parade on Highway 1, followed by a town tree lighting and holiday party. Dogs are welcome in many of the lavishly decorated inns opening their doors to visitors Dec. 8-11 on the Mendocino Coast as part of the region’s 23rd annual Candlelight Inn Tour. Mendocino Inns are featured on Dec. 8, inns of Fort Bragg on Dec. 9, inns of Albion and Little River on Dec. 10 and inns of Elk on Dec. 11.
